2016 Happy New Years Photo Slideshow of Nova Scotia

'Dog Day Afternoon', pastel by Minaz Jantz Inspired by walking on Conrad Beach, Nova Scotia

WE LOVE our new house and living in Seaforth, Nova Scotia! We pinch each other every single day and say how grateful we are to everyone who has helped us along this journey. We are incredibly thankful to have landed here. It has been a transformative stage in our lives... thank you!

Jim and I drove across Canada from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast to initiate a new way of life. It's been a transformative phase not only in our health but also in what we create in our work. Once we were bound for Nova Scotia, our primary intention was to embark on a full-time creative journey while also improving our health and creating art & music.

Jim and I came to find a rural area and a gorgeous piece of land to design and build our own custom groovy little beach shack & art studio in 2011.

Read more here... Building a house in itself was a massive creative learning curve, but fortunately, we had talented local builders who did honest work and were an integral part of the entire design process.

Our life-changing move to Nova Scotia in 2010 from Vancouver, Canada, separated us from family and friends, but only in miles, not from our hearts. Read more here...

A view from our windows and the glorious double rainbows!

Jim is the musician, and I am the artist. While the two of us require different circumstances to further our creative journeys, the one thing we share is our love for each other and an excellent spot on earth where we park our belongings.

We now have the time to share our home with a dog who needs lots of attention, pets, & walks.  Three Years ago, a tenacious terrier found his way to us, and now our life is fur-blessed by an energized, spark-plug, silky terrier named Ziggy. He had a few shaky starts in his first four years before us, but has won out with us, the people devoted to being his slaves to his ways.

Jim has managed to collaborate and coordinate with some very talented fellow musicians & singers over the last couple of years, both in L.A. and Nova Scotia. He writes music every day, and once it all starts to click, he is off to Ross Billard's music studio in Halifax to record his latest songs.  His idea for music collaboration is to showcase various styles of music and talents. A goal this year to achieve is for Laughing Buffalo: The Music Well to have its own online site where it will feature all the music collaborations.

This year, I had two technological mishaps that resulted in the loss of many files and photos. My external hard drive blew a spring the same week my laptop died. The sour in this bad lemonade got me into the FLOW to better organize what's left of my saved files. This spun me into a technological tornado with many learning curves along the way. I hope to plateau soon with all this internet stuff and get back to art-making.

I wish everyone a wonderful year filled with discovery, humor, and love! Celebrate the New Year by taking a look at some of my photos, which capture the beauty and unique character of Nova Scotia.

ALL photos are taken by me in my 'drive-by shooting' style of photography, so please come with me and ENJOY THE VISIT without leaving your chair, and see some of our favourite spots on the planet.
