Fred's Found Object Art & Workshop Videos

How people come to the creative act of art making is a story that is unique to every person on the planet. Art can be used as therapy and for many of us, the creative act has played apart in our physical, emotional & spiritual healing that generates overall happiness.

Some of us come to the creative act naturally, like Fed Leach and are predisposed to making things and can be bothered by some kind of nagging desire to create something all the time and MUST DO IT or be miserable while others are encouraged by people, places and learned skills to challenge the creative act and luckily some can make it a career. I believe that every human being on the planet has the ability to create but with all these possibilities available, the desire and motivation needs to be dialed to 'JUST DO IT!'

Is Found Object Art considered an art form? Yes it is an art style and many famous artists have dabbled in Found Object Art such as Pablo Picasso who created works of art like his famous Bull's Head 1942 where he uses a bicycle seat and handle bars. Surrealists such as Salvador Dali created sculpture from every day objects too like his famous Lobster Telephone 1938, So Fred is not alone in the desire to create something from a spark of imagination while using common goods as the medium to create a finished work of art.

Fred's Found Art Sanctum!
Freddie's Found Art Sanctum!
Fred Leach came to his recent burst of creative actions when he needed to make a decision of what to do with all the years of STUFF, collected and piled high in his HUGE workshop. Pondering, he thought he could just throw it all in the garbage or try selling the STUFF on Kijiji (the horror of it!) or maybe he could just do something FUN with it all.

Fred's cool STUFF!
Freddie's cool STUFF!
I can see with my own creative eyes when visiting Freddie's workshop, he does have a lot of funky stuff collected and all could be transformed into Found Object Art.

Fred has collected and saved lots of funky STUFF from building movie sets as an I.A.T.S.E scenic carpenter. He also has practical stuff collected from years of renovating and selling older homes in Nova Scotia. Imagination and skills with tools have been his mainstay for his working life but now he can have pure joy creating something just for the pure pleasure of it and offers it up to others to enjoy looking at it!
